Visegrad, we have to talk!

Visegrad, we have to talk!

We need to talk - about the political, social and cultural status quo in the countries of the Visegrad Group: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

In our "Mixed Dopppel-Visegrad," our four authors discuss debates and moods in their countries on an weekly change (always on Wednesdays) on ostpol.de: Pointed, subjective, direct. (Subscribe here as a newsletter!)

You ask: What does Europe still mean today? How does the self-image of societies change? What role does the need for sovereignty play? What realities do we, as Europeans, have to face in order not to lose sight of the big picture? Where does the arrogance of the Western gaze begin – and from when do you have to vehemently confront right-wing populists?

The Goethe Institute publishes the texts the following day in Polish and Czech translation on goethe.de/polen, goethe.de/Czech Republic as well as goethe.de/jadu and ensures that the columns also discuss beyond German language borders in the V4 countries Can.
